SUNRISE INTERNET FRANCHISING
Sunrise Bagels & More opened their family operated bagel/deli store October 7, 1994, in Vancouver, Washington. Our bagels quickly became known as the “Original Northwest Bagel.”
Soft and chewy with as high a gluten level (protein) as the acclaimed “New York bagel.” We separate ourselves from our competitors by offering sixty plus different varieties of gourmet four ounce jumbo bagels that stay soft and chewy all day.
Ø Great for breakfast and lunch
Ø All-natural ingredients…no fat…no preservatives…no cholesterol
Ø Any sandwich that can be made on bread can be made on a soft Sunrise Bagel…from eggels (egg, cheese, bacon and ham), to pastrami on a pesto, parm or sundried tomato with all the trimmings. Sunrise stores can offer espressos, herbal teas, pizza, doggels, zippies, bialis, pastries, muffins, scones, cookies, cake…and, yes, BBQ meats.
Check us out…you won’t be disappointed.

Franchise Opportunities
If your dream is to open a successful bagel store, then you can’t afford not to review our concept.
I have spent a lifetime managing large systems in the Pulp and Paper industry, as a Power Engineer, Resident Manager and as a Vice President, with a degree in business management. We have spent twelve years originating and building a successful fifteen bagel/retail and wholesale operations, while competing with the large bagel franchises. You too can chart the same course. Move from where you are to where you want to be in the fastest most cost efficient way.
Someone once said, “time is money” and it is true that the more time you spend learning the tricks of the trade (the school of hard knocks) the higher your cost.

Do I need to have a baker’s background?
No, you need to understand processes, have a business background, understand the need for complying with regulations, deal with employees and employee related issues, advertising, cutting costs and managing those significantly few components that impact your business in the most profitable way.

Is the bagel business a mature or dying industry?
Bagels have been part of our diet since the 16th Century, when the first bagel was called a bugel (horse stirrup) made by an Austrian baker for the Polish Prince Yon Yoiski. Today, America consumes 2.5 billion bagels and this figure is rising. For those who are diet conscious, we offer bagels that have no fat, no cholesterol and no preservatives. We have vegan bagels (no animal fat), we have low carb bagels (40% less total carbs than a conventional bagel), we have bagels of many different flavors…raspberry, strawberry, cinnamon raisin, as well as gourmet bagels, such as, Asiago, spinach parmesan, apple streusel, super cheese bacon, super cheese, sundried tomato, stuffing (sage)…over sixty plus different flavors…yum, yum.

Will I need to pay an initial fee?
Yes, the initial fee is for the right to market and/or produce Sunrise products.
a) For a retail operation…$1,000 for pre-agreement, $20,000 upon agreement signing.
b) For a stand-alone store, all costs in (a) and 4% of gross sales for 4 years, then 1% forever.

Do I receive help in selecting a location?
Yes, we will work with you in picking the best location for your area, help establish the best lease and after you have made your decision, create a scale drawing of your site, which will show the best layout of equipment, to take advantage of every square foot of your retail outlet

What are the hours?
Bakery operations start at 4:00 a.m., in order to fill wholesale orders…retail store opens at 6:00 a.m., usually closing in the early evening. We encourage Sunrise owners to stay open longer hours, selling coffee, tea, ice cream or pizzas, to take full advantage of the lease space.

How large a store do I lease, buy, or build?
If you operate a retail operation you need 1,000 to 1500 square feet. If you operate a stand-alone store (see cost sheet) you will need 2,000 to 3,000 square feet.

Will Sunrise supply my food products?
It depends upon whether you operate a retail outlet and your location…Sunrise may be able to supply all frozen products…bagels, zippies, bialis, doggels, pizza skins, pastries, breads. If you are a stand-alone operation, you may purchase supplies locally through Sunrise purveyors for the best pricing (Sunrise receives no profits from this arrangement.)
